Here's what we were working with - an older garden tub setup tucked behind floral curtains. It worked, sure. But a tub that barely gets used takes up a lot of space, and stepping over that ledge every single day gets old fast. A lot of homeowners are in the same boat.
We pulled it all out and built a full walk-in shower from scratch. The walls got floor-to-ceiling marble-look tile with bold veining - the kind of finish that makes a bathroom feel completely different. Big format tiles laid vertically give it a lot of visual height and keep the space feeling open.
The floor is where it gets really interesting. River rock tile adds natural texture and does something important - it gives you grip underfoot without looking industrial or clinical. It pairs with the marble wall tile better than you'd expect. The two finishes balance each other out really well.
We also built in a tiled bench, recessed niche, and multiple grab bars throughout. Those aren't afterthoughts. They're planned from the start and tied into the structure properly. That's the difference between a shower that looks good and one that's actually built to last and function well for years.
A frameless glass door finishes it off and keeps the whole thing feeling clean and uncluttered. No curtain rods, no rings, no fussing with liners. Just a solid, functional custom shower that makes daily use a whole lot easier.
