Jetted tubs sound great in theory. In practice, most people stop using them pretty quickly - and then they just sit there taking up space, collecting grime in jets that are nearly impossible to clean, and making the bathroom feel cramped. This homeowner was done with it. Time to tear it out and build something that actually gets used every day.
Demo day is always a revealing stage on a job like this. Once that tub came out and we stripped things back to the studs, we could see exactly what we were working with - old framing, existing plumbing lines that needed to be rerouted, and a subfloor that told the story of a bathroom that had been untouched for decades. Getting down to bare bones like this is where solid remodeling work actually starts. No shortcuts, no covering up problems.
With the space fully gutted, we're setting this bathroom up right from the ground up. The plan here is a walk-in shower with new tile flooring and a fresh vanity. That combination hits every practical need - easier to clean, safer to use, and a whole lot better looking than what was there before. Walk-in showers in particular make a real difference for day-to-day life. No stepping over a tub ledge, no awkward climbing in and out.
This is exactly the kind of bathroom remodel we do well. It's not just about swapping fixtures - it's about doing the demo correctly, understanding what the existing structure needs, and building the new layout so it functions better and lasts. New tile floor, a custom shower, and a updated vanity will completely change how this space feels and works.
More updates from this one coming as we get further into the build. If you've got a jetted tub that's just gathering dust, or a bathroom that hasn't been touched in years, this kind of full gut remodel might be exactly what makes sense.
