Every good remodel starts with a teardown. Before anything new can go in, the old stuff has to come out - and that means demo day. We're deep into it on this one, pulling up old tile throughout the kitchen and main living areas, and carpet from the rooms that are getting the hardwood treatment.

Here's what we're working with: years-old tile set in thick mortar beds, floors that had seen better days. Pulling this kind of flooring isn't just a matter of prying it up and calling it done. It takes the right tools, a methodical approach, and a clean subfloor when you're finished. Rushing that prep work leads to problems down the road - uneven surfaces, poor adhesion, floors that don't hold up.

Once all the old material is cleared and the subfloor is prepped, this home is getting new tile in the kitchen and hardwood in the other areas. Fresh paint is also on the list. It's a full-scope update, and the demo phase is where all of that groundwork gets laid.

We know the mid-demo stage isn't pretty. Broken tile, exposed concrete, dust everywhere - it looks like a mess before it looks like progress. But that's the job. Getting it right at this stage is what makes the finished product look and feel the way it should. No shortcuts on the subfloor, no rushing the removal.

This is the kind of whole-home work we do - from kitchen remodels to flooring overhauls to fresh paint throughout. Stay tuned. The finished result on this one is going to be a serious upgrade.
